PhotoToGo Privacy Policy
In plain English
- PhotoToGo runs entirely on your iPhone.
- Your photos never leave your device through PhotoToGo.
- No accounts, no ads, no third-party ad trackers — only anonymous, aggregate usage counts.
- We don’t run servers, so there’s nothing for us to collect.
- Payments are handled entirely by Apple.
This Privacy Policy describes how PhotoToGo (“the App”) handles information. PhotoToGo is published by Pulse and Purpose, a registered DBA of APRIL’S CHOICE LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”). This policy is specific to the PhotoToGo iOS app; our general website privacy practices are described in our site Privacy Policy.
1. The short version
PhotoToGo runs entirely on your device. We do not collect, upload, sell, or share your photos or any personal data. There are no user accounts, no advertising, and no ad trackers. The only data that ever leaves your device is anonymous, aggregate usage analytics (see section 5 below); never your photos or anything personal. Your photo library never leaves your iPhone through PhotoToGo.
2. What the App accesses
Your photo library (with your permission). When you grant Photos access, PhotoToGo reads your photos and their thumbnails through Apple’s PhotoKit so you can review, favorite, organize into albums, and delete them. The iOS Photos app remains the source of truth: deletions go to Recently Deleted (recoverable for 30 days), and favorites are mirrored as Apple Favorites. You can change or revoke this access at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Photos → PhotoToGo.
3. What the App stores
All of the following is stored only on your device (in the app’s local storage), never on our servers (we don’t operate any):
- Your review decisions (which photos you kept, favorited, organized, queued for deletion, or bookmarked);
- Your settings (appearance, language preference) and your lifetime activity totals.
You can clear this at any time with Settings → Reset review progress, or by deleting the App.
4. What we do not do
- We do not run servers of our own; the only data that leaves your device is the anonymous, aggregate usage analytics described in section 5.
- We do not use advertising identifiers, ad networks, or cross-app trackers, and we never build a personal profile of you.
- We do not require an account or collect your name, email, contacts, or location. (Photo metadata such as a capture date or place shown in the App is read on-device. Resolving a place name to display it uses Apple’s location services and is never sent to us or to any third-party tracker.)
- We do not sell or share any data with anyone.
5. Anonymous usage analytics
To understand how PhotoToGo is used in aggregate — for example, how many photos people tidy — we use TelemetryDeck (telemetrydeck.com), a privacy-first analytics service. The signals are anonymous and aggregate: app launches and counts of photos tidied. We never send your photos, photo content or metadata, file names, your name, email, contacts, location, or any identifier that maps back to you. TelemetryDeck is designed not to collect personal data and does not use advertising identifiers.
6. Subscriptions and Apple
PhotoToGo offers an optional auto-renewing subscription (“PhotoToGo Unlimited”). All payments are processed by Apple through your Apple Account. We never receive your payment details. Subscription status is verified on your device via Apple’s StoreKit. Apple’s handling of your purchase is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
7. Optional feedback
If you choose to email us at hello@pulseandpurpose.net, we will receive the message you send and your email address, and we use them only to respond to you. We do not add you to any mailing list.
8. Children’s privacy
PhotoToGo is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect any personal information from anyone.
9. Your controls
Because everything is on-device, you are in full control: manage Photos access in iOS Settings, manage or cancel your subscription in iOS Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions, and remove all app data by deleting the App.
10. Changes to this policy
If we ever change this policy we will update the date above and post the new version at this URL. Material changes will be reflected in an app update.
